a sense of place

i liked doing this painting because i was really amused by the ball things. i liked how this one turned out, i think that this painting was good because its accurate and also because it does create a mood and i wanted the first thing that you see to be the ball things and i think that its the first thing that you see.

white objects painting

i think that this painting turned out ok. i like how the fabric turned out but not really the mugs. the mugs don't really look 3D and hat be bceasue of the angle that iwas lookin at them from. other tahn that i lke how this turned out for the first painting.

final reflection

i think i that i have progresses in many areas. in use of color i have learned how to mix colors to make them more accurate and how to use color to create a sense of depth. i have learned for example in my fruit painting when i first began i learned how to do shadows and hi lights and now i have learned from the surface and texture painting how to make things 3D. i have also learned how to make a good composition. i have learned how to place things so that it looks balanced and something interesting to look at.with the surface and texture painting i think i have progresses but it is still no tot the best of my ability i can do better and i will continue to progress in that area.

studies in smallness:finished paintings

to do these painting s i feel that i learned a lot. i think the easier part was the color mixing but the harder part was making these paintings look accurate. i think that in the end the paintings came out good i like the way that they turned out. i think that when it came to hi lights they came out good but the harder at was making the right color to create a shadow.

where i am at

i think that the most challenging aspect of the course so far has been making my painting look 3D, and not having a black so it makes mixing dark colors harder. like when we had to do the still life of white objects. having to make different whites with out using black was hard because i had to mix other colors to get my dark whites. i have had to get help from ms Roberts in order to understand what my painting needs to be able to make it look 3D. usually its the smallest of things but it helps.
i think i have progresses in color mixing. when we had to do the fruit paintings my colors were pretty accurate and now that we have made our own set ups my colors are coming out fine as well.
i think that looking at paintings throughout history affect us because it gives us and example and it also can provide ideas of what we should do or what we an do in the future with our own paintings.
