nighthawks by edward hopper

i chose the painting nighthawks by Edward hopper. it is a painting of a corner of a city to the right of the painting there is diner with 4 people in it. one man sits alone while there is one man in white that serves them because he is behind the counter. and the two other people sit to the left of the man who sits alone. the woman a well dressed red head seems to be ignoring the man that she is with.

i thank this painting is interesting because its unusual, the painting is no really symmetrical and t brings the attention to where the diner is not only because it is the biggest part of the painting but also because it is the part that is in the light. i like that there is so much detail in the painting for example, the people are so detailed and placed in such a way that one can come up with their story for the painting.

great description BUT why is this painting considered to be so important? why should we care about it today?
